Our Honolulu trip

Printing boarding pass. (pictured:Le Sportsac bag from Lauren.)

I had a nice view from my room.

After the show, Jeff signed copies of his book for those who had bought them. Here he is signing my copy.

It's official.

I cracked up when I read this!!!!!!!

After the show we made a stop at the Cheesecake Factory for some delicious cheesecake.

I could have used a couple more days off the ship.

What a wonderful day and a half we spent off the ship. The hotel rooms were nice and all had balconies. I found out later that without knowing, we all slept with the sliding glass door open. It was so great to have fresh air flowing through the room. Also, you forget how pleasant it is to have sunlight shining in on you. Brett and I took some time to take a dip in the pool.
The show itself was really fun. The house was packed and the audience was great. Most of the audience consisted of new improv students who had never seen a long form show before so that was pretty special. We had a Q&A afterward and they asked tons of questions. It's really exciting to see the seeds of an improv community sown.

Improv in Honolulu

I haven't blogged all week because I've been kind of blah ever since Lauren left the ship.

Some exciting news is that the cast and I will be doing a show at the Laughtrack Theatre (http://www.laughtracktheater.com/) in Honolulu this Sunday (tomorrow). We're all flying out of Maui on Sunday morning and spending the day at our hotel in Waikiki until our show in the evening. You have to understand that I haven't slept on land in over THREE MONTHS! I'm so looking forward to watching regular TV and lounging by a pool where no one knows me. Who knows, I might even take a bath (as opposed to our crazy tiny showers on board). I'm also really looking forwad to do doing some long form improv. We fly back to the ship Monday morning and do our two mainstage shows Monday night.

Lastly- Lauren edition

Na Pali coastline.

Lauren wore these acupressure bracelets to help with her seasickness.

Unfortunately, Lauren didn't feel too hot the last couple of days of her trip. It wasn't all bad though, this meant we spent a lot of time in the cabin snuggling and watching DVDs including the entire two seasons of the television show EXTRAS.
She's now back in Brooklyn. You can check out her blog here: http://allthelatestmoves.tumblr.com/
Oh! And while she was here, Lauren was a guest on Aphasia's podcast which you can listen to here: http://web.me.com/brettlyons/Aphasia_Presents_%22Something%22/Aphasia_Podcast/Entries/2009/7/9_Aphasia_Presents_Something_Episode_19.html

Kauai- Lauren edition

Lauren and I at the Marriott in Kauai.

Perfect.

Couples massage!

Amazing.

Just being cute on the beach after the massage and a couple of drinks.

Surprisingly good.

As part of Lauren's trip we decided to celebrate our two year anniversary (which is actually July 21st) and a couples massage was part of my gift to her. I booked the massage at the Alexander Day Spa which is located in the beautiful Marriott Hotel in Kauai. We followed the massage with lunch and drinks at a cute beachfront restaurant called "Duke's". After lunch we laid out on the beach and then jumped into the warm ocean where we swam for a bit. We ended the day by catching the 8:20pm showing of the movie The Proposal which was actually good.

Kona- Lauren edition

Bloody Mary and Mimosa, not a bad way to start the day.

Cutie.

Lauren hanging with some of the locals.

Is this great or what? This guy will walk on you for only 10 bucks!

Surfer chick!

It was nice to stroll around Kona with Lauren. We looked at and made fun of most of the little shops. Good day.

Boiling Pots, Hilo- Lauren edition

I leap like a graceful gazelle.

Brett's got his own style.

Lauren was a real trooper when it came to all of the hiking.

From left to right: Robyn, Brett, me.

Another day, another waterfall.

Boiling Pots is a pretty tough place to hike/swim through but we all did it and had a great time doing it!

Orange Scarf

Here, Lauren looks adorable while eating.

Here, Lauren looks adorable poolside.

I'm not the only who thought she looked adorable, the paparazzi were all over her!

Twin Falls: Lauren Edition

We made a stop at this beautiful surf spot.

The good life.

Making our way to the waterfalls.

!!!

Lauren and I rented a car in Maui and headed up Hana Highway to Twin Falls. Nothing like hopping in a car and doing some exploring!

Ship life with Lauren

Lauren and I having a drink at the Gordon Beirsch Brewery.

Wonderful shopping opportunities in Honolulu.

I met this blond at the crew-only party on board.

Lauren had a problem with her.

We're having a great time.

It's so fun having Lauren on the ship. She is not only my best friend but she's my coolest, funniest, and prettiest friend.

She's here!!

No biggie, just Lauren in Waikiki.

A happy boyfriend.

I had some goodies waiting for her in the cabin.

Fourth of July with the Second City cast aboard the Pride of America. Sounds very patriotic.

Ahhhh! Lauren landed in Honolulu on the 3rd while I was making my way from Kauai to her. She stayed in a cute hotel in Waikiki. On the 4th, I left the ship as early as possible and met her at the hotel. We walked around the beach for a while and then went to the luxurious Ala Moana mall. After some shopping we made it to the ship where we met up with the cast and spent a nice 4th of July evening together. This is the first 4th Lauren and I have spent together. She's here!!!
